Venues

Students and staff can reserve the Kuntokatu 3 sports hall (sports building L) and Kuntokatu 4 sports hall (R1-03) through Ressu online booking system (can be found in TAMK intra).. The gym of the sports building L can be used without booking from 7 to 22.


Principles for using sports facilities / TAMK

TAMK’s sports facilities: 

SPORTS HALL, sports building
Kuntokatu 3, at 8 – 22:

Primarily team sports, such as floorball, volleyball, basketball, futsal. In addition, 3 badminton courts (+ if needed, gymnastics or dance for groups over 50 persons)

General principles and rules


- users have to be TAMK’s students or staff or accompanying representatives of closely connected interest groups

- the hall is primarily used for sports in one-hour turns. Longer turns (e.g. tournaments, events) or turns for TAMK’s other activities may also be allowed on a free-form email application directed to TAMK Sports / Esko Tirkkonen


- there is equipment for diverse sports (goals, nets, poles)at the hall. They have to be returned to their places of storage if they are not needed by the following turn.


- the person who has made the booking is in charge of all activities in the hall during the reserved time


- TAMK’s Sports Expert Esko Tirkkonen has to be immediately informed of caused or noticed damages or defects


- the door of the building has be kept locked and outsiders may not be let into the building


- TAMK has no insurance for users, but everyone participates at one’s own risk and takes care of one’s own insurance cover


Regular turns (in addition to above-mentioned principles and rules)


- regular turns are mainly applied and granted twice an academic year and they are valid for one term


- activities improving study and working wellfare organised for staff and students are given the needed regular turns before granting other regular turns


- regular turns are given to student and/or staff groups. Turns are primarily given to groups which are open for all student or staff members


- the group using a regular turn must have a named person in charge of the activity during the turn


- regular turns are mainly one-hour turns in order to provide turns for as many student or staff members as possible. If the nature of the activity or sport requires a longer continuous time, the turn can on a separate decision be extended to a maximum of two hours


- TAMK students and staff members as well as closely connected interest group representatives may participate in regular turns


SPORTS HALL, R1-04
Kuntokatu 4, on weekdays at 8 – 16 primarily in educational use, other turns at 16 – 22

Primarily dance, gymnastics and badminton

- it has to be considered that the hall is primarily used by the Degree Programme in Physiotherapy on weekdays at 8 - 16. During the given hours, free turns may also be reserved for other use, but availability of the turn should be ensured in the morning of the day as the turn may have been cancelled due to last minute changes in study arrangements

- the storeroom for sports equipment is reserved for educational use and is not to be used in other turns. Sports equipment can be borrowed from the student union Tamko’s office.

- at 16 – 22 the hall can be booked by students and staff in accordance with the above-mentioned rules and principles for individual and regular turns

- volleyball and badminton poles and nets are available for all turns. Sports Expert Esko Tirkkonen should be informed of any noticed damages or defects in them

- other sports equipment (e.g. badminton rackets, feathers, balls) can be borrowed from Tamko’s office
